Description
Hansa Yellow is often used as a Lemon Yellow. Hansa Deep is the same, only slightly darker, or “deeper”. First made in 1900, Hansa Yellow was an early replacement for cadmium yellow. It is non-toxic and stable, and suitable for saturated pastels – an advantage it has over cadmiums. It never turns yellow-green in oil. The pigment itself is very fine, and gives hansa yellow a strong tinting strength. Of all the organic pigments, hansa yellow has one of the highest levels of light-fastness. It is acid-proof and very permanent. CI:Py65
