FEATURED ARTIST: CAROLE COLLINS CHALMERS
As Carole’s web site says, “Carole Chalmers is an imaginative painter who is driven by an incredible passion for self-expression through art. Her works are often noted for their style, elegance, and technique. Carole has developed her voice by combining strong color design, precise realism, and an appreciation for abstract expressionism blended with wit and spirituality. ” As part of her artistic development, Carole studied in New York at the Art Students League, and Philadelphia at Studio Incamminati where she was influenced by some of the great painters of our time.
Carole uses Oil of Spike Lavender in her work: “I use oil of spike lavender as a replacement for turpentine in my medium and as a cleaning solvent for brushes. It is somewhat stronger than turpentine in its ability to break down the paint so I use it sparingly. My favorite result is clients always comment on the wonderful aroma of my paintings and my studio. Also I should mention the relaxing quality of the lavender scent that touches my mood each time I enter my studio.”
