Transparent Red Oxide is a jewel on the palette! It is more red and less orange than the standard brownish Burnt Sienna but has a similar usefulness and beauty. it is somewhat more expensive than opaque oxides, but well worth it because of its versatility. In fact, you might find it a replacement for Sienna in almost every situation. Because of its transparency, it is great for mixing – even with greens it holds up better than Sienna.
