ECOLOGICAL RELEVANCE
JK Thorsen has a new December show at the Connect Gallery in Omaha. JK is a full time artist with a packed calendar of shows and presentations throughout the year. With her ecological focus in art, JK explores nature and the stories of others, and as she describes it uses more earth-friendly practices; discontinuing use of alkyds, plastics, chemically refined, & formaldehyde-incorporated materials. Moving away from petroleum-based thinners. Sincerely reaching for production – that nature could love. For ecologically friendly painting materials, JK makes use of Water-Washed Oils, Biobased Thinner, Oil of Spike Lavender and other materials from The Art Treehouse.
At JK's opening in Omaha, Art Historian Jenni L. Schlossman Ph.D. from Rutger's University will give a presentation About the Artwork. There will also be two days of live jazz music. A good time will be had by all!
