Description
Raw Umber is a natural earth pigment, commonly found in European countries, especially Italy. Relatively opaque, this paint has good hiding power. Because of a high Manganese content, Raw Umber catalyzes oil rapidly, and so it dries very quickly. The umber pigments are not toxic. Its is commonly assumed that umbers were used for cave painting, but the documented uses of it only date back to the 16th century. Raw Umber is a unique and useful color, but care must be taken because it tends to darken over time. CI:Pbr7
